Kindle Oasis (3rd Gen) Screensaver Size: 1264 × 1680 px
The Kindle Oasis (3rd Gen) screensaver and wallpaper size is 1264 × 1680 pixels. That is a 7-inch e-ink panel with a 1:1.33 aspect ratio at 300 ppi. Export at exactly those dimensions and the image fills the screen with no stretching, cropping or black bars.
The Oasis has a thick asymmetric bezel with physical page-turn buttons down one side. Keep faces and focal points away from that edge, or the grip will visually crowd them. Amazon has discontinued the line.
Use the resizer below to crop any photo or artwork to those exact dimensions — it opens with the Kindle Oasis (3rd Gen) already selected, runs entirely in your browser, and never uploads your image anywhere.

Choosing an Image for the Kindle Oasis (3rd Gen)
Getting the pixel dimensions right is only half of it. This panel has its own characteristics, and they change what kind of source image holds up on screen.
- At 300 ppi this panel resolves fine detail well. Thin linework, small lettering and subtle tonal gradients all survive, so detailed illustration and photography both work.
- The 1:1.33 ratio is close to a standard portrait photograph, so most vertical photos crop to fit with little loss. Landscape source images will lose a lot of their width — crop deliberately rather than letting the frame decide.
- E-ink is greyscale, so colour contrast disappears on screen. Check that your image still separates into clear light and dark areas once colour is removed — two colours of similar brightness will merge into one flat tone.

How to Set a Custom Screensaver on the Kindle Oasis (3rd Gen)
Kindle has no official custom screensaver setting. The standard non-jailbreak workaround is to turn your image into an EPUB whose cover is that image, send it to the device, and let the lock screen show the current book's cover. The cover setting is hidden entirely on ad-supported Kindles, so ads have to be removed from the device first.
- 1
Resize the image
Size the image to your Kindle's exact screen resolution using the resizer above, then download it.
- 2
Convert it to an EPUB cover
Use Calibre or an image-to-EPUB converter to build an EPUB whose cover image is the file you just downloaded.
- 3
Send it to your Kindle
Email the EPUB to your Send to Kindle address, or upload it through the Send to Kindle web page.
- 4
Turn on the cover setting
On the Kindle, open Settings > Device Options and enable the setting that shows the current book's cover on the lock screen. Depending on firmware it is labelled Show Cover or Display Cover, and it does not appear at all on ad-supported devices.
- 5
Open the book and sleep the device
Sync, open the new EPUB so it becomes the current book, then put the Kindle to sleep. The lock screen shows your image.
Note: This is a community workaround, not a supported feature. On Kindles sold with Special Offers the cover setting is hidden until ads are removed from the device, and the lock screen always follows whichever book you last opened — there is no folder of wallpapers and no rotation.

Kindle Oasis (3rd Gen) Screensaver FAQ
- What size should a Kindle Oasis (3rd Gen) screensaver be?
- A Kindle Oasis (3rd Gen) screensaver should be 1264 x 1680 pixels — the device's exact panel resolution. That is a 7-inch screen with a 1:1.33 aspect ratio at 300 ppi. Matching these dimensions means the image fills the screen with no stretching, cropping or black bars.
- What format should the image be in?
- PNG or JPG both work on the Kindle Oasis (3rd Gen). PNG keeps sharp edges cleaner on text and line art, which suits e-ink. Because the screen is greyscale, high-contrast images with simple composition reproduce far better than busy colour photographs.
- Does the Kindle Oasis (3rd Gen) support custom screensavers?
- Kindle has no official custom screensaver setting. The standard non-jailbreak workaround is to turn your image into an EPUB whose cover is that image, send it to the device, and let the lock screen show the current book's cover. The cover setting is hidden entirely on ad-supported Kindles, so ads have to be removed from the device first.
- Can I use the same image on other e-readers?
- Yes. 6 other supported e-readers use the same 1264 x 1680 panel as the Kindle Oasis (3rd Gen): Kindle Paperwhite (12th Gen), Kindle Colorsoft, Kobo Libra 2 / Libra H2O, Kobo Libra Colour, Boox Page, PocketBook Era. One correctly sized image works on all of them without re-cropping.
